Driving Change. Changing Lives.

EBS Children’s Institute brings together the nation’s leading universities, top researchers, special educators, and therapists to drive innovation and improve outcomes. Whether we’re working on a tool to help school districts better track student progress, or we’re empowering Speech-Language Pathologists with feeding and swallowing applications that foster greater gains in a shorter time frame, we are continually looking for ways to impact lives.

We then share our research so that therapists, special educators, school districts, early intervention agencies, and private clinics have access to the latest knowledge, which directly benefits children across the nation and around the globe.

In the Spotlight

SCIP (Sound Contrasts in Phonology), funded through a $1M NIH Grant, is the product of thousands of hours of evidence-based research and the work of Dr. A. Lynn Williams, leading EBS Speech-Language Pathologists, along with nearly 100 Speech-Language Pathologists throughout the country. The application utilizes five Contrastive Methods, more than 2300 pictures and illustrations, 6,000 words, and has simple tracking and reporting that can be utilized for both individuals and groups. SCIP has been shown to decrease the significant preparation time of traditional methods and increases the overall effectiveness of therapy.

Caselite is a web-based system that addresses the challenge of intervention scheduling in the schools. It's designed for anyone who needs to schedule and document interventions (SPED/Resource Teachers, SLPs, PTs, OTs, etc.). It all started with school-based SLPs who wanted "a magic scheduling button" and a tool to make scheduling simple, with an easy way to document services.
